education vendors

what are schools meant for. what were they built for. and what future purpose do they intend to serve. with commercial funding now replacing charity and donations in couple of years in our own country, the affects may be quite touching....well to begin with education will 'cost' in true expenditure sense. for premier 'brands' used to 'under the table' and 'over the table' donations, there's a competitive edge coming in in form of pure business investments. hopefully your 'donations' will have a receipt with education services truly acquiring commodity status.
the worst part, yet to be felt, however, will be slightly disgusting. our age-old respected positions of 'gurus' will be now taken by 'service providers'. the English teacher may be 'English sub-vendor', the mathematics guru may become 'maths trainer' and so on....worst still with mingling of streams which is expected in next five years, you may instead be buying 'packages' - just as you do for your mobile service, satellite televison packs.
the two sides of an unthought revolution in academics is awaited. of course people with lower levels of financial empowerment will have chance to acquire knowledge. but again for the majority, that 'special know how' will come at a cost.
so gurukuls will be true education vendors. get ready to restructure your mental pattern where every teacher inspired us for life and where feet took to the grounds even when you saw a known figure walking towards you, yards away....
dear teachers, we may, it seems, will miss you for all times to come....after we opted out of joint families, we are now going to part with the best buddy of our life - our most revered and loved teacher. welcome vendors.
